Below is reproduced the text of an email sent by PC Dave Towner who organised Operation Intern in our area recently to Richard Ayling, our Chief Observer:
Richard,
Can I take this opportunity to say thank you to you and your group for their support in the operations I have arranged. Can you forward my appreciation, I know not all the events have been very productive, but I believe if one accident was avoided due to our joint efforts, then every event was worth while, a figure that is hard to prove, but Kent figures does demonstrate a dramatic reduction in motorcycle KSI figures from the previous year. Motorcyclists are now 1 in 5 of all KSI figures rather than 1 in 4 from 2009/10. In figures a reduction from 182 to 134.
Thank you and I wish you all the best for the future,
Dave
A job well done to all who took part. This just goes to show that EKAM can, and does, make a difference by improving rider's skills and the KSI (Killed or Seriously Injured) figures quoted by PC Towner speak for themselves.
