This story is almost concluded, save to say that when I elected to replace the lost oil
due to the misfitted oil cap I
was royally ripped off by a
group of grinning, no-English
mechanics at a Honda
mower/outboard/bike shop.

Dan Harris attended the April
committee meeting to give an
overview of the work of Full Throttle.
All adult members of Full Throttle are
trained trainers with DAS
accreditation. Full Throttle have 4
Honda Zoomers, 2 CB125, and 1
CB500.
The aim of Full Throttle is to introduce
young people to motorcycling similar
to a youth club. They are taught how
to be road legal, how to apply for a
test, and are given tuition in the
Highway Code. All members get a free
CBT at the end of their course.
They arrange a 24 hour ride across
Kent using 2-way intercoms, an
overnight camp and return the
following day. In this way the young
riders gain more skill than they would if
left to their own devices. The benefit of
taking biking further is emphasised:
cheaper than a car and a more
practical way to gain road experience
than by remaining with a moped.
Before their test, youngsters are
invited to attend EKAM’s club night
(3rd Wednesday of each month) to
see what we do and see the
enthusiasm our members have for
biking. They are also invited to attend
EKAM’s Slow Riding Skills course
which is held at South Kent College in
Folkestone.
EKAM can offer advice and assistance
and fun after they take their full test to
enhance young rider skills. Our club
secretary, Dianne, will be the liaison
with Full Throttle.
