Events Calendar

The club events calendar is now only available via Tracker.

The Rides

Social Ride

We run regular Social Rides throughout the year, generally on the 3rd Sunday morning in the month (the one after our club meeting).  Details of each ride are published on The Tracker calendar, where you can also sign up for your attendance.  It’s not “compulsory” to commit, but it is very helpful if you do so that we may ensure sufficient organisation is in place.

Sunday Social Rides are open to all Members and Associates, but for Associates you do need to have been signed off by your Observer before joining so that you and we can be comfortable that all riders are capable of riding to a good standard.

Associate Rides

We also run monthly Associate Social Rides, normally on the Sunday following the Member’s Social Ride. This is open to all Associates and tends to be a much smaller, more relaxed affair with an opportunity to practice the skills you are learning and to be able to watch a number of Observers within the group to see what good riding looks like.  Feedback is available to you, but only on request, so there is no pressure.  You will also gain experience of using the “Drop-Off” system which is used on all club rides to enable everyone to use the same route without the need of a SatNav.  More information on the “Drop-Off” system can be found on the website.  We do request that you sign up for these as the rides are classed as training and we need to ensure we have enough Observers to properly run the ride.

Tuesday Evening Rides

For 6 months of the year, from April to September when the light allows, we run a “Second Tuesday” evening ride commencing at 18:00 hours.  This normally will end at a Pub or a Fish & Chip shop.

Longer Rides

Finally, there are other events including: a Festive Lunch ride over the Christmas period; Midsummer Madness into France for a day; Late Summer Madness, again a day into France, and long weekend rides to Wales, to the Southwest and similar.  We also run 2-day weekend training rides which provide an intensive opportunity for riders of all levels to develop their skills within an enjoyable social event.

Ride Information

All the ride information that you need will be within the Tracker Calendar on the appropriate event page, but we do also remind you using e-NEWS@EKAM, via email and on Facebook Events.  The rides are graded Green (good for all), Amber (a bit more technical, or longer, or both) and Red (much longer than 1:30 hr, technical, progressive etc) and we also advise if they are suitable for a pillion, so that you can make an informed choice about whether to attend.

Ride routes are published in the EKAM group folder in MyRouteApp (MRA) route planning software and can be viewed or downloaded as you wish. You will need an MRA account (the basic version is free) and apply via the app to join the EKAM Group.

Join with us and enjoy!
