EKAM is moving to a new online system called Tracker. This will allow: -
- your membership details to be recorded and give you the ability to amend them,
- you to book attendance at events,
- your ride logs to be recorded on the system.
The Tracker system has been developed to assist clubs to keep all details related to club activities in one place. The system is being used by several IAM motorcycle clubs and has therefore been tested extensively. Tracker will provide benefits for the members, observers and the committee.
This is being introduced in three phases: -
- the first phase for observers has been implemented and is active,
- the second phase related to members details is ready to go.
- the third phase for booking for events and rides will be live shortly.
Second Phase for members:
Every member will have access to their own profile page. It will contain your address, contact details as well as your “In Case of Emergency” (ICE) details.
The following is important
Your data is private, and we are required by law to comply with the Data Protection Act 2018. Therefore, personal data is only accessible to designated EKAM committee members, for example, the membership secretary, club secretary, chairperson, and, if you are an associate or taking further training, your observer.
The Data Protection Act make it an offence to use personal information for any purpose other than that for which it has been given. Your membership data can only be used for club activities. The committee will ensure strict compliance with these rules.
Benefits
You will be able to edit some details yourself, for example: -
- what bike you ride, your email, mobile or telephone details and emergency contact details and so on,
- if you’re doing observed rides with one of our observers, then your observed rides run history will be recorded on Tracker, allowing you to build a history of your advanced riding journey,
- Your qualification dates are all recorded on Tracker as well – from Advanced Rider test pass date to Masters qualification.
A one-stop shop to keep hold of all your details.
Third phase
- Tracker will host the club calendar.
- Those members who organise events will be able to add events to the calendar, with the ability to add information about the event. They will also keep the information up to date for each event.
- As a member you will be able to indicate if you’re attending and see who else is planning on coming to an event.
- You will be able to save the event in your own calendar, so you’ll never forget an event again.
- Tracker will allow the event coordinator to message attendees directly if information changes at short notice or the event is cancelled (due to severe weather for example).
When this phase is operational the intention is to move over to Tracker entirely, but initially we will mirror both calendars.
So how do you get started? It is very, very simple.
There is now a link to Tracker on the EKAM website. But you can also access it here: https://ekam.ridethesystem.com/ which will bring you to this page:
To login for the first time, just head to the page, and under new users enter the email address you use to receive all EKAM communications, then click Find Me.
You will then receive an email link to set a password as well as give you your username (usually your first and last name with a dot in the middle – e.g. john.smith).
After that you should be in!
Calendar
Once logged in, the first page you are taken to is the calendar where you can peruse future events and get more detail by clicking into them.
Each event has location details, start time, a description of the event, organizer details and so on.
You can click to confirm you’re attending (and cancel attendance at any time if your plans change).
Your Profile Page
Click on the menu tab on the top right (see below) and you can “View My Profile” where all your run information is stored, as well as contact details and so on. Do please visit your profile page and provide Emergency Contact Details.
